Never choose the Color Negative Film setting as any negative scans are intended to be processed in ColorPerfect's ColorNeg mode later on and thus have to be created in a way preserving the negative. In the Original section choose Film as the Document Type and set the Film Type to be Positive Film. Overall, I used this scanner in professional full-manual mode with relative ease, with the exception of having to individually toggle "off," then "on," each photo enhancement attribute to apply them to the photo in the preview window (the check-boxes should have indicated which enhancement attributes were going to be applied when it was preview-scanned).Creating perfect photos from your slide and negative scans with ColorPerfect: EPSON Scan, Epson Perfection Although, some of these features did not provide the quality of image restoration as I was looking through all of the function modes, I did not have a problem creating a quality image file in professional, full-manual mode. Scanning modes provided function from full-auto to professional, full-manual for scanning, cropping, sharpening, color restoration, and dust/scratch removal.
Downloading the utilities from Epson Support, they installed without flaw. Although a slightly older model, this scanner performs equally as well as the Epson Perfection V600.
